Perspectives Concertantes

About
Clichés about the harp such as "the instrument of angels and gods" do not bother Anaëlle Tourret, they are simply part of it and undoubtedly have their (historical-cultural) justification. "You have this image of a harp, of a salon instrument, which is like a fairy tale. This is also true and is part of our history, but it is not only. I would like to open up this perspective further." Since the middle of the 19th century at the latest, the harp has also been able to establish itself in the concert hall as a solo instrument with orchestral accompaniment. For this reason, Tourret is now following up her acclaimed CD debut with solo literature with the recording of three concertante works – a captivating listening pleasure with the potential for amazement.
Anaëlle Tourret should be well known to the North German concert audience: Since 2017, she has been playing as principal harpist of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra in Hamburg, where the former winner of the Berenberg Culture Prize (2019) also holds a teaching position at the local University of Music.
The master student of Xavier de Maistre has long been one of the leading harp soloists of her generation – and is a much sought-after guest in concert halls around the world from Lucerne to Berlin to Tokyo. Tourret's first foray into the recording studio was just as successful in 2021: her album "Perspectives" with original works for solo harp by André Caplet, Paul Hindemith, Benjamin Britten and Heinz Holliger received the nomination for the International Classical Music Award 2023. Harald Eggebrecht's review summary in the SZ at the time was briefly and concisely "Excellent", and orchestergraben.com read: "Anaëlle Tourret lives for her instrument, and she does not want to remain in an elite circle of cultural workers, nor is she content to fill the dusty image of the pensively spherical harp sounds. No, Tourret has much more plans. She wants to use her talent to make wider and wide spectrums and dimensions of her instrument accessible to all of us ..." And this is where her new studio project follows seamlessly – programmatically consistently titled "Perspectives" again and now with the addition of "concertantes".
